Back in 1991, laser printer was a newer technology with a significant potential for businesses to improve workflows by switching from dot matrix printers. We saw a significant need for businesses to have a partner to help them support and maintain this new technology. At that time, we began a service partnership with our clients and hired service technicians to help ensure that they were getting the most out of their technology investments.
As time passed, laser printing began to evolve and HP attached scanners onto them; this was the beginning of what we know today as multifunction printers (MFPs). We saw this evolution happening and recognized the fundamental shift in how businesses needed to manage their print fleet. At the same time, our clients realized that managing their fleet was expensive and difficult. In 2003, we realized the market was changing and we made the decision to shift our focus.
From that point on, we had our niche. Our focus was managed print services (MPS) and we began helping our customers find opportunities within their print fleet. As we got better and better at this, we started helping our customers drive down costs, reduce the amount they were printing, and identifying areas of improvement in productivity. This was critical for us going into 2008 and helping companies manage through the Great Recession. Although this was a very difficult time, our clients depended on us and to deliver on the promise of reduced costs and reduced printing.
Today, we geek-out over office printing. We love helping our customers manage their print fleet, leveraging a variety of technologies like automated supplies fulfillment, scan to cloud services, mobile printing, secure print streams from unauthorized users, and more. We help our clients understand complex printing situations so they can make great, long-lasting, business decisions.
